Working away on resolutions already!

Today we went to the library, which was my first attempt at an outing with the kids. We specifically went to the baby story time, which is a really open format and allows for complete interaction with your kids while doing it. The first part is spent singing songs, the second part is reading together with your child. There's a few minutes of group reading and bubbles too. It was a great success! Even though the story time was technically for babies, Anne loved it! She was able to sing all the songs and we read quite a few books together. Jamie enjoyed it too, but he loves, loves, loves crawling around and exploring new places and toys so I knew he'd love it. Afterwards we headed over to the toddler/preschool/youth section and played with some of the games they had there. It was a really good time-an hour spent there with nearly every minute focused exclusively on the kids-not just me watching them or talking with other moms but what the heart of my resolution was about, interacting with Anne (and Jamie) and spending quality time with them.

With my other resolution to work through my cookbook, last night I cooked 2 new recipes from it, tonight I'm making another and if there's time Anne and I are going to make a cookie recipe after naps. I am so excited to dive in and start making wholesome good for your body and soul food!

I've been slacking on my "New Meal of the Week" because of the holidays. I'm going strong this week and next week I'm trying one of your recipes and another one from Simply In Season. Mike is less than thrilled about the SIS cookbook. He said that the combos of ingredients looked gross.

This made me remember how I took Andrina to the baby story time at the library when she was Jamie's age...oh they grow way too fast...
