So this morning I let John decide if he wanted bagels with cream cheese from Panera or a smoothie for breakfast and he choose the green smoothie. Here's what I blended up: 4 cups of raw spinach with 1 cup of vanilla soy milk. I blended this first and it blended easily and made a beautiful bright, vibrant emerald green. Then I added 1 cup of frozen banana (we had a TON of banana one day that I couldn't use up so I pureed it and froze it in 1 cup containers to use in the future for breads or muffins or whatever) and 2 cups of frozen berries. This gives us 5 servings of fruit and veggies per person! Wow! Plus there is only about 200-250 calories in this drink! John and I were really impressed with the taste and how healthy it is for us. I think we're going to try and make this on a more regular basis...
