I think I did it!

So I sat down this morning and made a list of all the different chores that need to get done in a month. Type A definitely came through for me. I organized those chores into those that need to get done every week, those that need to get done every 2 weeks and those that are once a month. Then I went to my Google calendar and put them all on there, making sure each day had similar amounts of chores as well as keeping like chores together. I think it looks pretty good! Each day I have 1-2 chores to do in addition to anything that just needs to get done on a regular basis (really the only thing I do daily w/o fail is cleaning the kitchen, putting away dishes and washing them). For instance, today is laundry day. Mondays from now on are laundry day. I will do laundry if there is laundry to do. Going along with that is a month chore of washing the window treatments. Tomorrow I will clean the bathrooms and change out the towels. Both of those are chores to do every 2 weeks. So I've kept like chores together. Really, I'm such a loser, but I'm so excited! I think this is going to be great. I've kept things very very doable but also I have something to do everyday so there isn't a single day that when dishes are done being washed in half an hour I have no clue what else to do and wind up watching TV or surfing the internet then feeling guilty and blah. I'm really excited for her nap today to start my new schedule of chores.

It really does help me to have some structure too. But, there are days when I don't do my assigned task during nap time so I have Lucas help me with it later and that can be kinda fun too. He gets a kick out of it. There are also days when I don't get to it at all so I either double up later in the week, or catch up on the weekend or the carpets don't get vacuumed that week or something. You gotta play it by ear sometimes or you will go insane.
I would love to see your schedule if you wanted to share it. I love that you have monthly tasks on there too. What do you consider your monthly tasks?

Yeah, it's my lovely type A, anal OCD personality coming through. I've learned to embrace and love it! :) hehe!
