1. If you do not shovel your driveway, there is a good chance you'll be stuck in the snow for 20+ minutes, rocking, shoveling and having your husband trying to push you out. (Note, I was not the one who initially got us stuck, but due to a baby growing in my womb, I drove while he pushed.)
2. "Rocking" your car does not mean reversing, giving it gas, stopping, going forward, giving it gas and repeating. It actually means giving it gas (forward or reverse doesn't matter) letting it rock forward, then back and when it naturally rocks forward again, you give it gas again. Repeat until unstuck. This is probably why I've never had much luck with "rocking" my car out because I did the former rather than the latter when attempting this maneuver.
