Breakfast-Smoothie #4

Happy Fall! Let's celebrate Thanksgiving just around the corner with a pumpkin breakfast smoothie!

3/4 cup vanilla milk (soy, almond, etc.)
1/4 cup vanilla yogurt
1/2-1 cup pureed pumpkin
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
Spinach and fish oil

Blend up and enjoy! If you're used to sweeter tasting smoothies, you'll have to tweek this one a bit. It is not very sweet on its own but for those who don't want to add anymore sugar to it, it is tasty by itself. To make it sweeter you have several option: increase the yogurt while decreasing the milk (you should have one cup of milk/yogurt combo total), add in a 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon maple syrup, or add in a few banana chunks. This should sweeten it up quite a bit for you. For those who don't do milk alternatives, I would use almost all yogurt and just enough milk to get it going since the milk isn't too sweet in and of itself.

And remember-you are getting 2 different veggies in at breakfast time! Your kids won't know it, but their growing bodies will thank you!
