New storytime

So Anne's gymnastics class is during the only time we can make it to story time at our library. We've been going weekly to story time for probably over a year now. I was pretty bummed because this was a big part of her life. Plus it was part of our routine and she liked it and looked forward to it. At our last story time, 2 weeks ago, I happened to ask if they had a listing of their story times, hoping against hope something new was available. There was something new! It was a 2 year old story time! We'd been going to the infant toddler one, but there was a 2 year old one that was during Mondays, one of my days off.

Today we went for the first time. It was much more structured than the other one. The kids sit in a circle and listen to stories being read out loud. Thrown in are a few songs or group stretching. At the end, there is a craft project. I'm sure most of them will consist of just coloring, but today they had Fruit Loops and glue and the kids could glue the Fruit Loops on their papers. Anne actually did it completely, all by herself! She would show me where she wanted the glue and then she would put the Fruit Loops on it, all by herself! Wow! She didn't catch on until the very end that you could eat the Fruit Loops and at that point she was done. Here's her lovely creation.
