Obsession

Anne's been obsessed the past few weeks. She is completely obsessed with Ducky and Baby (whom she started to called "Nakey baby" today because poor baby has no clothes as she was a bath baby.). She put them (and Elmo) to bed all day long. She'll spend hours spreading blankets out, pretending to change diapers, and turning on music for them. She carries baby's bed (which is a big basket) around with her wherever she goes. Ducky and Baby go almost all places with her now. Her latest thing is that Ducky and Baby (and sometimes Elmo if he's lucky) have to eat every meal with her. I bought her a $4 highchair at a resale the other week. Now for every meal, before she gets in her chair, they have to get in theirs, which sits right next to hers. To make things "worse" they have to eat exactly what she's eating. There is no way around this. So I find myself cutting up 2 extra pieces of potato or ham, setting out an extra bowl of cereal and of course, giving each of them a cookie when Anne eats a cookie. It's actually pretty sweet and funny that she's gotten so obsessed with it. Here's a picture of Ducky and Baby in their highchair. Note the diapers they are both wearing.

That's a really sweet picture with Anne taking care of her "babies". Yes, at our parents' house on Easter Anne kept covering up Ducky with Andrina's burp cloth. Very cute but I hear you about it starting to wear a little thin. Although this won't last forever. If that offers any comfort...

Oh no, it's not really wearing thin. I think it's cute but it baffles me how she can do it over and over for hours at a time day after day for the past month or so. Yeah, i basically think it's incredibly cute even though it basically means doing double dishes each meal (since Ducky and/or baby has to have their own bowls.)
