Pumpkin Patch II

This weekend we went to a pumpkin patch with Anne. John and I both had high hopes but Anne was not super into it. The first patch we went to was a field just around the corner from us. A local church was giving away free pumpkins. We were so impressed. They had cookies and cider and a moon jump. In addition, it looked as though they had personally picked through all the pumpkins and put out only the cleanest, roundest, and those w/o imperfections. John and I got a beautiful pumpkin for Anne which we will try and carve an Elmo into, if we are lucky! While we were at this farm, Anne was actually scared. She did not want to touch the pumpkins, sit on them or climb on the bales of hay. Still we snapped a few shots.

See the shoulders here, I had just asked her if she wanted to touch a pumpkin. She was not into it at all.

Then we headed off to a farm down the street from us. It was $8 bucks a person, but Anne was free. This farm was pretty detailed. They had a petting zoo, 2 different train rides, 3 playgrounds, a balloon chase thingy, and a moon jump. Again, Anne was not so into anything. We went to every playground and she went down every slide, which she was sort of into. Then we showed her all the animals but she was very scared of all of them, except the ducks, she was a bit more interested in those ("Wow, is that was Ducky would look like if he were real?"). We also went on a train ride, which Anne said "Da, da" (all done), before the ride even started! One of our last trips was to the balloon chase. Anne LOVED this. She squealed and ran around the entire time. The moon jump was also a moderate hit. We think we might get her one of these for her birthday party in the spring. Here are some more pictures of that farm.

Completely scared of the sheep.

Having fun on the slide!

Anne loved "driving" this tractor. Our little tom-boy.

On the train. Isn't she cute?

I love this tape measure. I wish we had seen it last fall. That would have been so cute to see how she has grown from then. As you can tell, she wanted nothing to do with standing and taking a picture.

This is the balloon chase thing. She loved this! See how these pictures caught her action?
