Let the dough roll in!
I realize that I have said this blog is supposed to be about our family, which includes, John and I, Anne and our home and things we do. However, if you've noticed, this has been overwhelmingly about Anne. So, here's an entry not about Anne. Yesterday John and I decided to replace as many of our light bulbs as possible w/ the compact florescent bulbs. I have heard that just replacing the top 5 will save you like 50 bucks a year, but replacing all of them could save you as much as 350$ a year. So, we counted up every bulb that was replacable and figured out we needed 29. The ones we couldn't replace are mainly those little tiny ones that go in chandilers and the ones that are three way-50/100/150 watts. We hurried over to our neighborhood walmart and spent a whoppings 100 bucks on new lightbulbs. John and I then proceeded to run around the house like chickens w/ our heads cut off taking bulbs out and putting new ones in. Our house is now as compact florescent as it can be. Now, even though we spent probably 10x the amount on these bulbs as regular, supposedly in about 4 months or so, the bulbs will pay for themselves. And, another bonus is that we won't have to replace these bulbs til Anne is 5! I'll have to keep ya posted if we need to change one out before she heads off to her first day of kindergarten.
