Anne'cdotes in action

Today Anne got tons of cake crumbs on my freshly vacuumed and washed floor. I told her she had to get the dust pan and little broom and sweep it up. She was only too happy to do it. (Truly, she's been begging me for weeks to let her help clean and the other day said it would be "fun" if she could clean the upstairs and simultaneously I cleaned the downstairs.) So she got down on hands and knees, and for never having swept before in her life, did a pretty darned good job. She carried the little dust pan with the cake crumbs in it over to the spot where it belongs and promptly turned it on its side, dumped the crumbs on the floor and put the dustpan back where it belonged. Classic.
