Fun on a boat

On Saturday our dear friends Cyndy and Steve invited us to go on their boat with them. Although I was really looking forward to it I have to admit that I was sort of nervous about the whole thing. I was worried 1. I would get sick (I get motion sickness very easily. When we went on our cruise I spent the first entire morning throwing up and laying on the bathroom floor.) 2. I would be bored and 3. Anne would be fussy. However, none of those things came to pass and we had a great time. Anne was such a gem, not really fussing at all. Steve drove fast enough that I wasn't sick at all. We stopped and fished for a while. Yes, I fished. No one caught anything excpet the girl who has never fished and refuses to eat fish. I caught a snake. Seriously. Fortunately it got off the hook before I had to take it off. Nonetheless it was the highlight of the fishing portion of our trip. We stopped and swam a bit, but we swam where the water was extrmely shallow. I guess swimming in the river is not like swimming in Lake Michigan. You can't just stop your boat anywhere on the river and swim because the river is smaller and people might actually run you over. So the unofficial designated swimming area is about 2-3 feet deep. It wasn't as fun as swimming in the lake and it was a lot dirtier, but Anne had fun. All in all it was a great day. Thanks Cyndy and Steve!!
