Breakfast

One thing I dislike so much about taking care of Anne that it boarders on hate is feeding her. I've disliked it ever since she started eating solid foods at 5.5 months old. To me it is such a hassle. Getting all her food together, cooking it, presenting it to her, only to have her 1. reject it after a few bites or 2. be "all done" in a shorter amount of time thank it took to make it. Plus let's not mention arguing and bribing her to actually eat, getting up 10x during a 5 minute meal to cater to her every whim and cleaning her and the table up afterwards. And to add insult to injury I have to do this 3x a day! Ugh!

Lately we've been pretty lazy at our house for breakfast. In fact the past two weeks or so, I've been doing whatever I can to avoid actually having her sit at the table. This normally means that she either sits on the couch watching TV and eating, walking around the house eating, or eating in her stroller or carseat. And her breakfast fare you ask? Well she's been having whatever we have around that's portable. She's feasting on pancakes right now as we speak, but other times it's a sweet bread I've made and frozen (pumpkin or banana), a cereal bar or even those oatmeal cookies from Quaker. I've been enjoying it I must say. It cuts meals down by 1/3. I think we're gonna stick with it.



Ps. The movie went great. She hardly talked at all and didn't squirm even once. I don't think she could have possibly understood the movie but she was quiet enough and seemed to enjoy it. Afterwards she would tell people who asked that she saw the "monkeys" and "Luna" (one of the chimps).
