Here's a quote from Fitness Magazine this month:  "The week before your period, hormonal changes can increase your daily energy needs by up to 200 calories, making you feel hungrier." 
So that's why I crave sweets, candy and cookies and can eat them in large amounts before my period...Thanks Fitness Magazine!
