Our first family project

Surprisingly, John and I have never really done a family project and we've been married for 3 years-2 of the years having a house and a baby. Yes we've painted rooms and organzied things and moved furniture, but we've never really worked together on something for any length of time. Even with the painting, although I helped quite a bit, I got bored easily and had John take over-plus he is WAY better than I am at painting.

Anyway, yesterday we have a fabulous day planting our vegetable garden. It was great and the first time John and I have both worked together on something. Even Anne joined in and "helped". John and I dug a trench to bury the chicken wire in, covered the trench once the chicken wire was buried, put rocks along the edge of the fence to hold parts of the chicken wire in place and then John even helped me to plant all of our plants. We planted 2 tomato plants-Beef Steak and Plum, carrots, eggplant, zucchini, parsley and basil. I'm nervous to see if any (or hopefully all) of it will come up and survive. We'll see. Here are some pictures of our time together.

A picture of the trenches we dug and all the rocks scattered.

Anne digging. She loved it. She carried her little shovel around with her the rest of the time we were outside and when John tried to take it to use it she screamed "Mine" while running after him.

The finished product. Isn't it pretty??
