An exciting week

Anne has had a very exciting week this week. Monday we went to our new 2 year old story time class at the library where she got to listen to stories like a big girl and do a real craft. Thursday we went to her gymnastics class, which she totally loved and yesterday we saw our friend Charlotte and her mommy Kate. With Char, we went to the Y to work out and then to McDonald's. This morning Anne was in our bed with us and she looked up at me and said "Donalds! Charlotte!" How amazingly cute and sweet that she could remember that from more than 12 hours ago! Wow! My little girl is growing up.

We actually have a really busy month ahead of us. Every Monday is going to be story time and every Thursday is gymnastics. That's new. Usually we only have one scheduled "class" or activity a week. This coming Monday we are driving down to Arlington, IL to go meet with a homebirth midwife. If we decide to go with her, we have to call her pretty much as soon as we get a positive pregnancy test to have a chance of having her attend our birth. So it's really important that we meet her now and decide now if we like her. No waiting leisurely until 10 weeks to decide with this care provider. (Side note, if we do not like her, our only other legal option for a homebirth provider is to go with the doctors who attended Anne's birth. See why legalizing direct entry midwives is so important? I digress...) Next Monday our friend Gia and her mommy Cat are coming over. The week after that is Anne's 2nd birthday and that weekend is her party. Phew! Busy month for us! And that doesn't even mention our trip to KS in a month-a 10 hour car ride with a toddler, which is probably another blog in itself.

I'm looking forward to this month though. Even though I have cold feet about a 2nd baby, I know that I do SO much better when I am busy. When I have too much downtime without anything to do, I get depressed. Quickly, easily and intensely. When I was with Shellie and Andrina last week, I was holding Andrina while helping Anne to get down the steps. It felt good to have both my arms busy and to have more to concentrate on. So I know that 2 kids in our family is a good choice, even if I'm nervous about it now. So back to the beginning of this paragraph, I'm looking forward to all the stuff we are going to do this month. It is good for us to be busy.
