In addition to having a fever on Saturday, Sunday the fever turning into a horrible cold that included coughing and a runny nose, Anne got a simply awful diaper rash on Monday. The rash started in a small circle and by the next day had moved to cover her entire butt, parts of her thighs and some of her tummy. John and I tried about 5 different types of diaper creams and none of them helped. By Wednesday the rash was so red and painful Anne had not sat down voluntarily for 2 days and basically cried for 2 days straight. We had to give her Tylenol just to ease the pain. On the advice of a Doctor, we tried a mixture I've never heard of: grapefruit seed extract and tea tree oil diluted in water and then put on the baby's bottom with a cotton ball. This stuff is amazing! By the next morning I could tell a difference. Now, 24 hours later, she's almost healed!! So, take notes Mamas, here's the recipe again:
3 drops of Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE) in liquid form***
1 drop of Tea Tree Oil***
2 oz of water
Mix this together and pour onto a cotton ball, then putting on baby's bottom.
**This recipe is not an exact science. I know people who use more or less of each ingredient or just pour or spritz on baby's bottom with the same result. I hope you find this as amazing and useful as we did!

Very nice one! I will save that incase Ivy is as sensitive as Juliette was. Sometimes the natural stuff wasn't strong enough for her, but I hadn't tried the tea tree oil...makes lots of sense.
Thanks for posting that. I am glad Anne is getting better!
