And she starts to cost us...

Up until now we have been very fortunate that Anne has not cost us very much money at all. I have been able to breastfeed Anne almost exclusively so there was never the cost of formula; we use cloth diapers and cloth wipes, so except for the occassional package of disposable wipes, we haven't had to buy diapers or wipes. (Although our choice of cloth diapers is quite expensive (about 15-20$ a diaper, John's parents have been extremely generous and have bought us 50-75% of our diapers-Thank you!) Also, I'm making Anne's baby food so we don't notice an extra cost in our grocery bill. Well, today we went out to brunch with the two of us and Anne. While we were there we bought Anne her very first thing off a menu...A fried egg over hard (so that I could easily feed her the yolk and not the whites). And the grand total was..........a whopping 75 cents! It was actually sort of fun eating out with Anne. In addition to her egg she enjoyed some of my cream of broccoli soup, a bread stick (the cracker kind) and a package of saltine crackers. Everyone at the restaraunt thought Anne was so cute and we had several people either walk by and comment on her or talk to her and several people stop and talk to us. So now Anne is offically old enough to get her own food at a restaurant. Although I will probably continue to just give her bites of my food or John's for quite a long time.
