(First off, let me say that I realize that I have blogged quite a bit in the last few days. Hopefully I'm not on the edge of too much.)
John and I are sooo not the type of parents to tote Anne around and continue our lives as though we do not have a baby. I'm not sure why but that has not come natural to us. Examples: we have only gone to a restaraunt once w/ her and that was when his parents were in town to help if she got fussy. We have only seen one movie since she was born and that was while Auntie Doreen was watching her. Unless we are going to a store together, we do things seperately on the weekends for comfort and ease so one of us can stay home with her. (I run errands w/o her or he will, we will see friends w/o her, etc.) So yesterday we broke the barrier for the first time and went out on a "date" WITH Anne! It was great! What sparked the idea was seeing a mom and her baby in a restaraunt a few weeks ago. When I saw that I remembered "Oh yeah, people go out with their babies...". John and I were getting back from a run with her and discussing dinner. I had a craving to go out so I suggested we go to a Red Robin and bring her with us. She was great. They had awesome little high chairs there-that hooked right onto the table. Anne ate her pureed squash and bananas like it was nobody's business and she was throughly entertained by the lights, TVs and other patrons. Near the end she did start to get fussy, but a quick trip to stand on Daddy's lap-and when that wore off nursing with mommy-and Anne was a happy camper again. We even got adventerous and went to...Barnes and Nobles afterwards and walked around. I wonder if this is part of the reason adjusting to a baby has been hard-we never thought to take her WITH us places? Who knows...but now that we know it can be accomplished we'll be taking Anne with us to many more places.

Way to go April and John! I hope this opens up some new opportunities and options for you guys. I'm glad you gave it a shot.
Good job guys! Well done! It does get a little easier as they get older, but I hope that you guys enjoy more family dates and outings in the future! Summer ofcourse is even better for family dates. :-)
